Mediums such as music, movement, painting and poetry are utilised in their practice of world-building. They include techniques of Igbo art-making, black surrealism and African theatre as metaphorical tools to discuss the legacy of future diasporic generations.
Kenechi’s personal pursuit is the repositioning of both philosophical and mundane appreciations to also centre intersectional identities that include the diasporas and minorities `that they are a part of. Documenting personal and collaborative creativity that fosters a certain sense of community and cultural celebration that has historically been commonplace.
Kenechi Carmel Amamgbo is a recent 2024 graduate of BA Fashion Communication and Promotion at Central Saint Martins, UAL.
Kenechi has been leaning into the combination of music with creative direction, leading the rollout for musicians muva of Earth and IYAMAH. and responsible for all the vinyl imagery. They work regularly with client Crack Magazine to collaborate on art direction and set design for their editorials.
